David K. Bernard, ThD, JD

UPCI General Superintendent

David K. Bernard is the general superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church International, which has 4 million constituents in over 40,000 churches in 225 nations and territories. He founded New Life Church of Austin, Texas, out of which 16 additional churches were started under his leadership. He was also the founding president of Urshan College and Urshan Graduate School of Theology. He earned the master and doctor of theology in New Testament from the University of South Africa, doctor of jurisprudence with honors from the University of Texas, and bachelor of arts magna cum laude in mathematical sciences and managerial studies from Rice University. The author of 36 books with circulation of 900,000, he has been published in 39 languages and has ministered in 70 countries on six continents. He and his wife, Connie, have three children and several grandchildren.

Connie Bernard

Connie Bernard is the wife of David K. Bernard, general superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church International and bishop of New Life Church in Austin, TX. She travels with Brother Bernard as time allows and is a frequent speaker throughout the United States and around the world. They have three children: Jonathan and his wife, Sara; Daniel and his wife, Kalee; and Lindsey and her husband, Cullen Chrestman. Sister Bernard is Nana to Elijah, Adelle, Rylynn, and Claire.

Mitchell Bland, MSE

Pastor of The Sanctuary

Mitchell Bland is the Executive Pastor of The Sanctuary in Hazelwood, Missouri. He received his master's degree in counseling in 2005. Besides his duties at the church he is also an adjunct professor at Urshan College, does counseling, seminars, and enjoys remodeling. Mitchell and Janelle Bland have been married for over 21 years and have one son, Skyler, fourteen years old.

Brocc Chavis

UPCI Multicultural Ministries Director

Brocc Chavis has served the UPCI fellowship as a Youth President, Pastor, AYC Director, and Multicultural Ministries Director, but most importantly serves his family as a husband and father of five beautiful children.

Cullen Chrestman, MTS

Instructor of New Testament and Theological Studies

Cullen Chrestman was born and raised in a pastor’s home in Arlington, Texas. From an early age, he knew he was called to pastoral ministry. To pursue this God-given goal, he attended Gateway College of Evangelism, which soon became Urshan College. It was there that he met his wife Lindsey, and they both graduated in 2015. Cullen continued his education at Urshan Graduate School of Theology, where he earned a Master of Theological Studies degree in 2017. Along the way, he developed a passion for teaching and training the next generation of Apostolics. After marrying in 2015, he and Lindsey remained in Florissant, Missouri, where Cullen now teaches New Testament and Theological Studies at Urshan College. They are proud to serve as employees of Urshan, a community that has so greatly shaped their lives and ministries.

Brent Coltharp, DSL

Lead Pastor - First Apostolic Church of Aurora

Married to Rachel Coltharp (best decision ever). Four children: James, Reagan, Lincoln, and Grant. Lead Pastor of the First Apostolic Church of Aurora, IL. District Superintendent of the Illinois District UPCI. M.A. in Biblical Studies and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, both from Wheaton College.

Stan Gleason, MACM; Marlene Gleason

Senior Pastors - The Life Church

Stan & Marlene Gleason have led The Life Church as senior pastor since 1988. They have raised four children, all deeply committed to advancing the mission of Christ. Stan currently serves as the assistant general superintendent from the Western Zone of the UPCI. He is the author of Follow To Lead: The Journey of a Disciple Maker, published by Word Aflame.

Everett Gossard, MTS

Book Editor, UPCI

Everett Gossard edits books for the UPCI. He has served as an assistant pastor and associate in missions to Nigeria. He and his wife live in St. Charles, Missouri, with their son.

Clay Jackson, MD

Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Psychiatry

W. Clay Jackson, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee, where he maintains a private practice in family medicine, and leads the palliative medicine program at the West Cancer Center. Dr. Jackson also serves as the Associate Fellowship Director for Palliative Medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. Dr. Jackson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, and his Diploma in Theology at Oxford University in England. Dr. Jackson has been the recipient of numerous clinical and teaching awards, and has had his research published in numerous journals, including Family Medicine, Journal of Affective Disorders, and the Journal of the American Medical Association. Outside medicine, his interests include an active outdoor lifestyle, literature, music, and theology. His most fulfilling role, without a doubt, is being a dad to his son Wesley. Dr. Jackson believes in Memphis as a place where grit meets grace.

Anthony Mangun

Senior Pastor - Pentecostals of Alexandria

Anthony Mangun was an infant when his parents, G. A. and Vesta Mangun, accepted the pastorate of The Pentecostals of Alexandria, the congregation he now serves as Senior Pastor located in Alexandria, Louisiana. Under his leadership, the congregation has grown and flourished, currently averaging 2,800 in attendance on Sunday. Pastor Mangun is a well-known and gifted speaker, participating in conferences across America as well as around the world. Anthony Mangun and his wife, Mickey, have two children: Miquell (Mrs. Jeff Hennigan) and Gentry (wife, Lexie Dauzat Mangun). They have one granddaughter, Eva Hennigan, and one grandson, Gibson Hennigan.

Jonathan McClintock, MDiv

Jonathan McClintock is Adult Curriculum Editor for both Word Aflame and The Discipleship Project. Jonathan also serves as Adjunct Professor of Preaching at Urshan College. He lives in St. Charles and is the father of three wonderful young ladies.

Lead Pastor - Calvary Pentecostal Church

Pastor Carl McLaughlin and wife Veta have been pastoring Calvary Pentecostal Church in Euless, TX since 1996. The joy of their lives are their three children, Jonmichael, Blake, and Jenna. Pastor McLaughlin earned a B.A. in Theology from Texas Bible College and a Master's Degree in Ministry with a concentration in Leadership from Hope International University/Apostolic School of Theology. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education in Christian Leadership (Ed.D) with Liberty University.

Cindy Miller, PhD

Pastor - Calvary Tabernacle in Wrightstown

Cindy Miller lives in New Jersey with her best friend, ministry partner, and husband— Stanton Miller. Together they pastor Calvary Tabernacle in Wrightstown, NJ and Apostolic Christian Ministries in Washington, NJ. She holds a Ph.D. in Pastoral Care & Counseling. Dr. Miller serves as Associate Professor of Practical Theology at Urshan Graduate School of Theology. In addition to authoring five books, she is a columnist for Reflections Magazine and contributes to other UPCI publications. She also travels nationally and internationally speaking at conferences, training ministry in professional development seminars, and providing counseling consultations for UPCI churches and clergy.

Dorion Norton

All Nations Apostolic Tabernacle

Dorion Norton serves at All Nations Apostolic Tabernacle in Jamaica, New York, where the Reverend Devon Dawson is pastor. He also serves the New York Metro District as the Youth Secretary, and Building the Bridge Ministries of the UPCI as Youth Coordinator.

Terry Pugh

Pastor

Terry Pugh has served in full time ministry for forty-three years. He has been pastor of the First United Pentecostal Church of Odessa for twenty-five years. Terry has been married to Pam Pugh for forty-three years, and they are parents of four children that are involved in various forms of ministry.

Melvin Reddy, DMin (IP)

Pastor

Melvin Reddy holds a M.A. in Human Service Counseling from Regent University, and an M.T.S. from Urshan Graduate School of Theology. He is a Beeson Scholar, currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree with a focus on Missions, Leadership, and Preaching at Asbury Seminary. Mel is an ordained minister with the UPCI. He and his wife, Lisa, planted and pastor The Sanctuary Church in Cedar Park, Texas. As a bi-vocational pastor, Mel has served the community as a hospice chaplain for the past 10 years.

Lisa Reddy, MDiv

Associate Pastor - The Sanctuary Church

Lisa Reddy earned a Master of Divinity from Urshan Graduate School of Theology, and a Master of Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International. Lisa serves as the Associate Pastor at The Sanctuary Church, in Cedar Park, Texas, where her husband, Mel, is the Lead Pastor. Their home is full of joy and laughter thanks to their 7 year-old miracle from God, Jude Jameson Reddy.

Gerald Keith Sjöstrand, MSE

Pastor

G. Keith Sjostrand, MSE, has been a licensed minister with the UPCI for forty years and a school psychologist for more than twenty years. During his pastoral tenure, he has served as psychologist in both the private and public sectors, and he currently serves as Pastor of Christian Apostolic Church in Newark, Ohio, with his wife, Janice, and their children and grandchildren.

Janice Sjöstrand, EdD

Janice Sjostrand, Ed.D., has been married forty years to Rev. Gerald Keith Sjostrand. She has two daughters, one son-in-law, and two granddaughters, ages six and two. She serves with her family at Christian Apostolic Church in Newark, Ohio.

Caitlin Sjöstrand, EdS

School Psychologist

Caitlin is the youngest daughter of Rev. G. Keith and Dr. Janice Sjöstrand. She received her Educational Specialist degree in School Psychology from Kent State University and is a practicing school psychologist in Ohio. She is a gifted speaker and singer, and has had the opportunity to minister at various conferences both nationally and internationally, in secular and church settings. Currently, Caitlin is Hyphen and Sunday School Director at Christian Apostolic Church in Newark, Ohio, where her parents pastor.

Jerry Smucker, MD

Brother, Doctor Jerry Smucker has a dual calling. He is a practicing physician for over thirty years. He is also the pastor of an Apostolic church in Columbus, Ohio. He teaches extensively on wellness. While he recommends the best in medical care, he believes that God wants us to care for ourselves according to His Biblical principles. He seeks to combine these principles with preventive habits to improve our health.

Aaron Soto

Lead Pastor - Apostolic Truth Church

Aaron Soto is the Lead Pastor of Apostolic Truth Church, a multi-campus congregation in Appleton, Wisconsin. The congregation is known for having strong multi-generational ministries and a rite-of-passage culture. Aaron and his wife, Heather, have three children. Their family celebrates the privilege and price of ministry.

Kym Swile, MACM

Director - Australian Apostolic Bible College

Kym Swile was born and raised in Australia. She is a licenced minister with the UPCA and Director of the Australian Apostolic Bible College. Kym graduated from UGST with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry in 2015.

Marvin Walker

Pastor - Faith Apostolic Church of Troy

Marvin and Claudette Walker presently serve in pastoral ministry at Faith Apostolic Church of Troy, MI. Previously, they served on staff of The Calvary Church in Cincinnati for 23 years, served as president and first lady of TCM for two years, and served the Senior Quiz Ministry as NA Quiz Master for 20 years. They have served together mentoring younger ministry couples for the past 15 years. For most of their ministry they have ministered together in marriage and family life conferences, and other conferences/venues separately. They have a passion that healthy, biblically-based marriages build healthy families, which in turn build healthy churches.
